Hello,
I am planning a trip to MI to see family. We will be flying into Chicago Midway. Didn%26#39;t plan on staying in chicago but thougt it would be fun to take my girls to the American girl store and the Navy pier. I know nothing about the city but we travel quite often so I can handle public transportation if it is available. Is this possible or would I need a car? I will have a rental but would like to turn that in and then enjoy some sights. We would stay at a hotel near the airport and try to do this in a day or day and 1/2/
Is this possible?
Thanks in advance!!!
Is this feasable?
Seems perfectly reasonable to me. Just take the Orange Line from Midway and transfer to a north-bound Red Line train at Roosevelt. Get off at Chicago Ave, and it is just a couple of blocks east.

Next to MDW = www.midwayhotelcenter.com
Thank for the info!!!
Trains are marked with their destination, not a direction. When you transfer at Roosevelt, catch the Red Line headed to Howard. Also check the CTA site for service alerts a couple days before you leave at www.transitchicago.com. There has been construction in the State Street subway tunnel and some weekends the trains are rerouted to the L tracks.
If the train is rerouted when you%26#39;re here, you can still exit the train at Chicago Ave, you%26#39;ll just be about 5 blocks farther west.
