I haven%26#39;t seen anything posted about a church worth visiting in Chicago. Am I overlooking something? I love to see old beautiful churches when I travel. Is there something i chicago not to miss?
Thanks!
Susan

Historic churches?
Nothing ';old'; by European/Asian standards, after all Chicago was only founded in the 1830s. But some beautiful/interesting choices:
2nd Presbyterian on S Michigan (amazing art glass, including several Tiffany windows)

Baha%26#39;i House of Worship in Wilmette - unique architecture

St Mary of the Angels, in Bucktown

4th Presbyterian on N Michigan (right by the Hancock)

Old St. Michael%26#39;s in Old Town (off North Avenue, near Sedgwick)
I am currently doing a map of the historic churches for a school class. Lincoln Park and the Gold Coast are full of incredible old church buildings. Here are a few of my favorites:
Quigley Seminary: 103 E. Chestnut
Moody Church: 1609 N. LaSalle
Church of our Saviour: 530 W. Fullerton
Lincoln Park Presbyterian: 600 W. Fullerton
St. Pauls United Church of Christ: 2335 N. Orchard
St. Vincent De PAul Roman Catholic: On the South east corner of the DePaul Campus
also the Fourth Presbyterian and St. Michaels as listed above.
There are many others, but these have some of the most interesting architecture.
There are some just tucked away in neighborhoods hardly noticed by anyone. I just love them.
Thanks for all your suggestions!
