Moving to Chicago short term

Hi

I%26#39;m considering moving to Chicago for an internship in a local televisionstation or production compay. I have never been to Chicago, so finding an apartment is quit difficult. I have no idea were to start. I have looked at different sites but I dont know anything about the areas or what is a good price.

I will problably stay maximum 6 months starting from november. The best would be a furnished studio for a maximum 500 dollars. I am a student and will be on a tight budget. What area is best, realativly close to downtown and feels safe enough for a 24 year old girl, living alone for the first time?

Any tips would help! I am completely lost.
