I%26#39;m planning an itinerary and I%26#39;m staying in Lombard. I was wondering which attractions located in the same areas near each other in Chicago.
Adler Plantarium %26amp; Astronomy Museum
Shedd Aquarium
The Field Museum
Adidas Original Store
The Chicago Architecture Foundation
The Hancock Observatory
Shoreline Sightseeing Skyline Boat Tour
Shoreline Sightseeing Architectural River Cruise
Grey Line
Sears Tower Skydeck
Navy Pier
%26amp; any other ';must sees';
Planning an Itenerary
Downtown Chicago is fairly compact. It%26#39;s quite easy to get around. As some of your list is outdoors, the weather plays a part in your itinereary.
A couple of suggestions - skip Sears Tower and visit the Hancock observatory. Adler, Shedd, %26amp; Field are all part of the museum campus area and are very close to each other.
Adidas is near the Hancock. Both are at the north end of the Mag Mile area.
Chicago Architecture Foundation - they have tours all over the city. Which one are you referring to?
You really need to do only one boat tour - the CAF architecture boat tour is the best of the bunch.
Which Grey Line tour are you referring to?
Planning an Itenerary
How many days do you have?
The Shedd, Field and Adler are right next to each other, but trying to squeeze in seeing all 3 in 1 day may be very tight or not possible.
I would definitely recommend the Hancock over the Sears Tower, and no need to see both.
The Adidas Store is right by the Hancock, on Rush. Navy Pier and the Shoreline Cruises are not a far walk from the Hancock.
Do you need to stay in Lombard for a reason? Just curious as it%26#39;s pretty far out. I%26#39;d be happy to see if I couldn%26#39;t find you someplace closer if you provide your dates of travel, budget and whether or not you would be okay with a non-refundable reservation.
We got Hyatt Place Lombard for $50 a night on Hotwire. Plus we have an early flight out of Midway. We plan on riding the trains or busses downtown and are staying 3 1/2 days( 6-8 to 6-12). We have already purchased the Go- Chicago card. I checked hotel rates in downtown and couldn%26#39;y believe the rates.
Dave we were referring to the Grayline trolley. the South Shore Tour and North Side Tour. They are all included in the Go-Chicago card. We%26#39;re trying to get our $$$ worth from these cards because we purchased 3 day cards.
I took a tour of the HP Lombard....it is REALLY nice..all new and fluffy! The rooms have a big plasma TV, nice bathroom, BIG couch/l-shaped thing with a BIG ottoman.....they have stuff you can get to eat.....you swipe your key card at a kiosk, and someone cooks it for you. You%26#39;ll love it....sheesh, if I could get it for $50 I%26#39;d be there too!
Correction: I got the Hyatt for $55 ( not $50) a night. It%26#39;s still a good deal. I%26#39;m looking forward to the stay.

OK. Again, with only three days I feel that oen tour is enough.
Metra trains will get you downtown from Lombard. http://metrarail.com/Sched/cnw_w/cnw_w.shtml
The Hyatt Lombard is a great deal for $55.
