Figured starting a thread about people%26#39;s wins for Chicago hotels might help people research about hotel traffic for their dates and give people an idea of what some of the win ranges are for the downtown hotels.
My latest win: Westin River North - 3/11 - $69 ($179 for that night on hotels.com)
recent win prior to that: Courtyard Marriott Downtown (Hubbard/State): $47 (was $129)
In the past, have gotten the Intercontinental for $68 (last October during an off period) and the Residence Inn downtown for $54.

for the above, all were priceline, aside from the Intercontinental.

This past weekend stayed at Intercontinental for $92 per night (on travelocity it was $160). Not a huge win, but still nice to save $70/night.
Are you requesting 4 stars and magnificient mile area to get those particuliar hotels?
A good idea on priceline is 4* River North - that way, your only options are the House of Blues, Westin River North and Renaissance - all 3 good. When you bid 4* North Michigan Ave, you run the risk of getting the downtown Hyatt, which has gotten its fare share of negative reviews.
Can someone let me know if this is a good deal.
Hilton Chicago 720 S Mich Ave
Fri 3/11 - Sun 3/13
2 nights for $60 per night
What are the pros and cons of this hotel? Anything worth checking out close by?
What is the average price to get the river north 4* hotel on priceline?

check out biddingfortravel.com - the whole site is just like this thread. check on ';chicago'; forum. Even lists all hotels that you are likely to get for each star/region. They are awesome about helping you with your strategy provided you do a little legwork as well.
Depending on the time of year, you should be able to get a River North 4**** on Priceline for $70/75-90
This might be a good topic to pick up again.
