I am looking to buy tickets for Wicked from stubhub.com and seeing that I have never been there I wondered if someone could provide some advice regarding what is good seating and what is not. The options are:
Balcony - Rows G through V -- (potential distance concerns and seat positioning considering that this section was distinguished from the next ?)
Balcony Center - Rows E through T
Center Right Loge - Row A
Dress Circle - Rows EE and GG (limited view?)
Thanks in advance for your help!!!
Question regarding seating at the Ford Center (Wicked)
To further clarify, I realize that the Loge is probably best. I suppose I am just wondering that in choosing the lower priced seats (i.e. primarily the balcony) will I be sacrificing anything in regards to view and experience. The rows available in the balcony seem pretty far back and I am wondering how far back they are and what is the viewing difference between balcony and balcony center.
Question regarding seating at the Ford Center (Wicked)
The loge seating is terrific, you won%26#39;t be sorry.
The front of the balcony is pretty far back but you can still see everything that is going on. I would avoid the cheapest seat category..it%26#39;s way back there. however, so long as the show isn%26#39;t sold out you can probably head down to the front
I have been to Wicked 3 times...2 times in the balcony, once row E center, once row P on the side a bit and once on the main floor 5 rows from the stage, a little to the right. My favorite was balcony row E center. We could see everything perfectly! It was not too far at all and you will LOVE this musical! I would go see it again even if the only tickets left were in the last row at the top of the balcony...it is totally worth it!
A little theater education you might find interesting...The theater was re-done a few years back. There were two huge lighting fixtures that hung in the foyer originally and the guy restoring the theater wanted to restore the lighting fixtures but one was missing. So they hired a company on the east coast to duplicate the one for tons of $$. The Chicago Tribune newspaper ran an article about how they were duplicating the missing light fixture. Sure enough, the right person saw the article. It was a farmer in Indiana who had bought a farm in the 70%26#39;s. Up in the barn loft was a huge dusty, dirty light fixture with ';Oriental Theater'; on it that fit the description. The guy in charge jumped in his car and drove the few hours to this guys farm. And, sure enough, it was the light fixture. In the loft of the barn. Surrounded by mice, hay, and chickens. No one knows how it got there....it came with the farm. Needless to say, the farmer is now a lifetime ticket holder for all events there ! And, if you walk up the first flight of stairs in the foyer and overlook the entrance you will be staring right at the gorgeous lighting fixture that sat in a barn in Indiana for years! Have fun!!
We had front row dress circle seats and they were awful. The balcony overhangs the top of the dress circle so we couldn%26#39;t see the top of the stage. People in the dc were furious!
I have seats in the Baloney for Row F, is that an ok seat?
If you can stand all the young fangirls, there is a website for Wicked fanatics at Witchesof Oz..com. THere is a forum there for the Chicago company and there is more info there than you would ever need!
