Me and a buddy will be traveling from Bloomington, IL to Wrigley next week and were wanting some ideas for transportation to the game. I know that their is always construction and we would probably be getting into town about rush hour so any local tips would be great! Thanks for the input.
Travel from Bloomington to Wrigley
It kind of depends how far you are willing to drive in. Are you here just to see a game and leave?
The Dan Ryan expressway is a mess. But if you%26#39;re coming in up I-55, you get off at Cicero Ave. Go south on Cicero and park at the CTA train station at Midway. Take the orange line train downtown %26amp; transfer to the red line train northbound to Wrigley.
Visit www.transitchicago.com and click on the trip planner for details.
Another option - a bit more driving - is to take 55 to 294 northbound. As you approach the Ohare area - exit 294 to 90 (Kennedy expressway) eastbound. After you get on the Kennedy. Get off at Cumberland. Park at the CTA station and take the blue line train to Addison. Transfer to an eastbound Addison bus which will let you off at the park.

I re to your ? of how far we are willing to drive I typically do the Cumberland CTA to the bus as you suggested. So that is no problem. I was worried about roadway construction and traffic at the time I would be up there.
Also, do you know if their are any park and ride shuttles? I think that their used to be some where you could park at a college or shopping center and then take a bus direct to Wrigley.
Thanks for the input.
Pace bus operates the Cubs Roundtripper. It%26#39;s a good deal
Here%26#39;s the details - pacebus.com/sub/鈥ubs_roundtripper.asp
Being originally from Bloomington myself I have done this trip many times. If there is more than two of you, it really pays to just drive to Wrigley field. Just take 55 straight into Chicago. Get on Lakeshore Drive and head north. You will get some great views of the city. Turn off at Belmont and take it to Sheffield. You should be able to find parking for $10-15 by the Vic Theater. It is small hike up Shiefield and Clark to the stadium. (Too bad we can%26#39;t all have free parking like the US Cellular Collesium.) Have a great time!

Does anyone know about the shuttle from DeVry to Wrigley. I heard somehting about it on the radio, but was unsure cost, times, etc. Thanks!!
The Chicago Cubs operate a shuttle and parking service at the DeVry University campus located off Addison St. and Western Avenue for all weekend and night games. For $6.00 you can park your vehicle and all occupants ride the shuttle free to and from the ballpark. Take advantage of the savings with the easy in and out of our secure remote parking facility. The first shuttle leaves two and one half hour prior to the game. The shuttle runs for one hour after all Night Games and for two hours after all Weekend Day Games.
Anyone have any thoughts on parking at Midway and taking the train to downtown then the red line onto Wrigley??
In terms of cost I would say that you are probably better off parking at the Forrest Park station and then taking the Blue Line in. The parking rates at Midway are much higher than the $2 to park at the Forrest Park Station. Just get off of 55 at Kingerly 83 and take it to 290 so you don%26#39;t have to pay the toll.
The parking rate at the Midway CTA station - not the airport - is $2 for 12 hours. There%26#39;s a difference.
