Sofitel Water Tower Security Concerns Comments Please

I am due to stay at the above hotel for two nights in June.

I must admit to being very concerned about the recent comments regarding security issues and the mangement%26#39;s apparent lack of concern. I was disturbed to read that one guest was robbed in their room while they slept! I am now considering changing hotels.

Do you think I am overreacting or would you feel relaxed about staying at this hotel? Your comments would be greatly appreciated.

The Sofitel is one of the nicest hotels in Chicago and if you look at those two recent reviews they are both posted by people who have made no other contributions to either the forums or hotel reviews in the past. That%26#39;s not to say they are not true but it does look a little suspicious. And you are only hearing one side of the story

Unfortunately these types of things can happen at ANY hotel or ANY bar, restaurant, etc. You need to protect your valuables regardless of whether you are staying in a youth hostel or a high end property like the Sofitel.

The Sofitel is a great hotel in a perfect location on Rush and Michigan Avenues. I am certain that it is one of the safest Chicago hotels.
