I%26#39;ll be in Chicago for Memorial Day Weekend. Can you guys recommend some bars to go to in the evening? Nothing too upscale, but somewhere cool and chill to hang out. My friend and I will be staying at the Swissotel.

If you were a little more specific (music style, dancing/no danincg, club/lounge/bar, age group) you might get a few more responses.

I%26#39;d prefer a bar, not a club. We%26#39;re in our mid 20%26#39;s. Music is not required, but if it has any music, top 40 or any live (cheesy) bands will be fine. We%26#39;re not looking for anything special with the music. In addition, with dancing, it doesn%26#39;t matter. Like I said, more of a place to just hang out. My friend and I won%26#39;t even feel like dressing up. Sorry if I%26#39;m sounding too specific. Let%26#39;s just put it another way: what%26#39;s a good neighborhood bar to hang out with people in their mid-to-late 20%26#39;s?
Most of the bars that were listed arent good neighborhood bars. They are harder to find. You can take a cab north to Lincoln park and choose from a variety of neighborhood bars on Clark, Halsted, or Lincoln Ave. The cab ride will only be about $10 each way. You could also try the North/Milwaukee area of Wicker Park. Tons of bars and clubs but not as many neighborhood places as their used to be
closest to where you%26#39;re at walk down Division Street where it intersects Rush/State
Otherwise, for some neighborhood areas...
Go to the intersection of Belmont and Lincoln...Walk down Lincoln either way...about 3 blocks south you%26#39;ll find a bunch of bars...if you go one block north you%26#39;ll find a bunch of bars. All are frequented by depaul students.
A little further away, go to wrigleyville.
No need to recommend any names...you%26#39;re not really looking for anything special. Just find something you like and walk in.
Thanks for the suggestions. I%26#39;ll travel to one of those areas and check it out, and I%26#39;m sure I%26#39;ll find a bar I like.
