Looking to visit this neighborhood, any suggestions for a nice place to stay? Also the restaurants and popular places to see.
How far is it to buckman neighborhood...jo1xbdells@hotmail.com

The Wicker Park and Bucktown neighborhoods are just northwest of downtown. You can get there by public transit. Visit transitchicago.com for details.
There are no major hotels in the areas. It%26#39;s limited to some B%26amp;Bs. This link might help - http://www.chicago-bed-breakfast.com/

Personally, I%26#39;d recommend staying downtown and then, if you would like to visit Wicker Park, heading there during the day.
Wicker Park and Bucktown are adjacent and it%26#39;s a little fuzzy as to where one ends and the other begins. (I%26#39;d say, the train tracks by Bloomingdale Ave., but there are other opinions.)
I had some overseas colleagues stay at Ray%26#39;s Bucktown B%26amp;B (there%26#39;s a link in that last post), and they were happy there. They were interested in being a little off the beaten path instead of a downtown hotel ';as usual.';
That said, getting to Wicker Park / Bucktown from downtown is easy; it%26#39;s a short ride on the Blue Line or Milwaukee Avenue bus. You%26#39;ll have a lot more options at your disposal if you stay downtown.
Try Cafe de Luca for breakfast or lunch it is yummy!
There isn%26#39;t much to ';see'; in wicker park...it%26#39;s mostly shops, nightlife and reastuarants
Let us know your tastes and food and we can probably recommend a place to eat there...a good catch all place it club lucky for italian. Blue line and Salud are good ';catch all'; bars...double door and subterranean have some great live music.
Oh, you can%26#39;t forget the ';Milk and Honey'; Cafe or Bongo Room for breakfast...2 of the greatest breakfast spots in the city. There%26#39;s also a incredible sushi place on Division...Malai Sushi I think it is. it%26#39;s rather pricey.
If you%26#39;re into artsy/hip, or secondhand clothing shops, you%26#39;ll really enjoy wandering up %26amp; down the streets in Wicker Park %26amp; Bucktown. Damen, Milwaukee and North Avenues are the heart of it all.
Piece pizzeria %26amp; brewery on North Avenue is a must-visit. Awesome thin crust pizza, award-winning home-brewed beer, a friendly/casual atmosphere and the Cubs game or the Sox game, or both, always on at the bar. If you%26#39;re up late on Saturday night, the Live-Band Karaoke (starts at 11, I think?) is very popular and very fun.
There%26#39;s a delicious French bakery a couple doors down from that (Sweet Thang) that I%26#39;d very much recommend for dessert.
