Nice Towns on the Lake with resorts?

Are there any nice upscale towns with resorts to visit. Similar to places like Nantucket?

Lake Geneva is our big weekend getaway spot here in Chicago...it%26#39;s not on lake michigan. I would recommend heading over to Michigan near Grand Rapids for resort towns. In Illinois we pretty much have full fledged suburbs or the navy base working their way all the way up to the wisconsin state line.

I would recommend Charlevoix or Petoskey, MI, these are 4-5 hours or so from Chicago. If you don%26#39;t want to go that far, the ';Harbor Country'; area of SW Michigan has a lot of nice little resort towns, though most of the time actual lake frontage is private. Saugatuck is nice too, to split the distance difference.
