Where to stay in downtown Chicago in July

My family and I are stopping in Chicago for 2 nights before driving up to stop with my brother in Wisconsin. Our dates are 21-23 July

We%26#39;re ideally looking to spend about 拢100 ($200) per room per night if possible. However we want to be centrally located ... although I%26#39;m finding it hard to work out where %26#39;central%26#39; is. Is %26#39;The Loop%26#39; the place to be??

Can anyone help? If we have to go higher we will do.

Thanks

The Loop, River North, and Magnificant Mile (Mag Mile) areas are best from a tourist standpoint. Downtown Chicago is fairly compact and easy to get around.

How many adults in your party? Do you mind a non-refundable reservation?

There are 5 of us and we%26#39;ll need 3 rooms. I don%26#39;t mind a non-refundable payment, but would like to know where we are stopping before we book.

Any hotel names would be much appreciated.

Thanks

The Raffaello, which is a block from Michigan Ave. shopping, is $183/$199 (single/double) via expedia.

The Indigo is not centrally located, but it is in a very nice neighborhood just a few minutes walk North of the North Michigan Ave. shopping area. Plus, there%26#39;s both bus and subway transit nearby. This hotel, which is a favorite of mine (it%26#39;s not super luxurious, but it%26#39;s very nice and its ';beach house'; style is unique, warm and welcoming. The rooms are also very cute, with hardwood floors and bright (although not over-the-top colors). This is $199 via Travelocity.

The Allegro is $199 as well, but the other two hotels above are better located.
