dvdmovie-Hotel help if you wouldn't mind

I am looking for a hotel in the Michigan Avenue area for Labor Day weekend....checking in August 31, checking out September 2. I need 3 rooms, with 2 people per room. I am looking to spend around $150/room/night if possible.

I have found the Millinium Knickerbocker for $188/room/night, and everything else looks to be over $200. Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you!

I%26#39;m seeing 3 rooms @ what is very likely the Whitehall for $136. The Whitehall does get some mixed reviews, but it is in a terrific location half a block from Michigan Ave.

Let me know if that is of interest and I%26#39;ll point out where I%26#39;m seeing it.

$136 per room @ the Whitehall, I meant.

Also, would you be interested in using a non-refundable service like Priceline or Hotwire? If so, I could provide some tips on that.

I%26#39;m also seeing the Hilton %26amp; Towers for $151, but that is definitely not near the Mag Mile area.

Other thoughts:

The Amalfi is $206 on Expedia. While more than you wanted to spend, you do get the bonus here of free breakfast and evening reception. Use promo code ORBDOT25 to get $25 off the final total for each room.

If you go through this link:

You can get the very nice Westin River North for $175, although that is a non-refundable deal. The Westin is a block from the Amalfi.

Dave and dvd...thank you for the replies.

The Whitewall hotel looks very nice and I would be interested in finding out how you found that price. I wouldn%26#39;t mind using hotwire or priceline, but I would prefer not to. Also, I didn%26#39;t mention before, I need 2 double beds in all the rooms.

Thank you for your help, it really is appreciated.

Oooh okay. That does change things as 2 doubles often go for a premium, and the Whitehall deal (a refundable ';off-the-record'; deal via lastminutetravel.com for $135.51) is for 1 bed. You can select 2 beds for the possible Hilton Towers off-the-record deal via lastminutetravel for $151, but that is in the South Loop and, while not a terrible trip away from Michigan Ave., it is about 30 minute walk due North, right up Michigan Ave.

The Hilton Towers is a 4.5* (it%26#39;s a 4* hotel in reality) Loop for $151.26 with this on the description page: ';Our 鈥極ff the Record鈥?hotels are distinguished brand name hotel and resorts. Due to the hotel chain鈥檚 pricing policy, we can not reveal their name until after purchase. Book now and save... it will be our little secret.

This hotel has both historic luxury and contemporary amenities. This hotel is in the heart of Chicago`s cultural core near exiting museums, theaters and nightlife.

The Holiday Inn Mart Plaza is $178 for a 2 doubles room with a view (the hotel overlooks the river, so ';view'; is likely the river and across to the downtown area.) The hotel%26#39;s location is somewhat ';out of the way'; in the West Loop, but there is an ';L'; station right there and it is about a 16-18 minute walk East to the Michigan Ave. shopping area. Rate is not refundable.

The Indigo in the Gold Coast area is $209 for 2 queens; while that would be more expensive than the Knickerbocker, it is a really cute, very nice little beach-themed boutique-style hotel. That would be a short walk to Michigan Ave.

The Conrad is $191 non-refundable for your dates, but they do not appear to have any 2 doubles rooms avail. - I%26#39;d call the hotel to make sure if you are interested in staying for that price.

Hotwire and Priceline will not work as PL only guarantees 1 bed, and Hotwire will only guarantee 1 bed for 2 people.

I%26#39;ll keep looking, but wanted to throw out some additional ideas.

steelhawkeye - we are in the same boat. going to both the cubs and hawks?

do you know about the deal at Swisshotel?
