Thanksgiving week busy?

just wondering if thanksgiving week or chistmas to new years is really busy? is that considered a peak time in hotel prices?

Thanksgiving week busy?

Not so much around Thanksgiving. But between Thanksgiving and Christmas rates tend to creep up. A lot of people come downtown for shopping trips.

In addition, these will probably run the rates up:

Nov 25-30

RSNA 93rd Scientific Assembly and Annual Meeting

McCormick Place

Delegates: 62,000

Dec 18-22

The Midwest Clinic - An International Band and Orchestra Conference

Hilton Chicago

Delegates: 14,000

Thanksgiving week busy?

Thanksgiving week is not busy in terms of hotels and, at least traditionally, has been rather low in terms of hotel rates. HOWEVER, the day after Thanksgiving is usually bad (day after Thanksgiving shopping) and as mentioned above, there%26#39;s a convention starting on the 25th. However, the 5-6 days prior to Thanksgiving and Thanksgiving Day should probably be lower than normal.

we were thinking about the mon beginning the week of thanksgiving and just staying a few nights, probably leaving ON thanksgiving. so it sounds good, esecially heading out as everyone would be heading in for the shopping.

thanks so much!
