Taste of Chicago

I appearenlty am going to visit Chicago during the Taste of Chicago weekend. I plan on staying between the 28-31st, the TOC starts on the 29th. I am hoping to book a good deal (maybe even last minute) through hotwire or priceline. Is TOC a big deal with hotels is it mainly locals??? I am not here for TOC, but can not change the dates:(

Taste of Chicago

It%26#39;s mostly locals that attend. But rooms near Grant Park tend to fiil up because some people make a weekend of it.

Taste of Chicago

I went to TOC on July 3 last year, what a zoo. However, I found a good deal on the Doubletree Suites at Rosemont, probably almost an hour train ride, but a good property.

Taste of Chicago is the largest festival, by far, in Chicago. The attendance is mainly tourists, so book a hotel ASAP. If you wait until the last minute you%26#39;ll end up in the suburbs.

The Taste seems to attract both locals and tourists. I%26#39;ve been told that during the week (except for July 3 and 4) the crowds are less oppressive. On weekends, people will come in from the suburbs which will make the event even more crowded.

Thanks for the info. I am not too concerned about the actual festival, (not planning on attending) I am more concerned about the hotel situation.

Thanks again
