Chicago - Jazz Fest Labor Day Weekend - Hotels

My boyfriend and I are going to be in Chicago over Labor Day weekend. We want to go to the Jazz Fest and also a Cubs game. Any recommendations on Hotels? We would like to be in the middle of the action - bars, restaurants, etc. Our budget is under $300 per night. Thanks for any help.
