My husband and I want to spend three to four weeks in Chicago, to ';get to know'; the city. Since we will be there for an extended period, location is not crucial. I%26#39;m looking at the Omni Chicago, Drake and Conrad. Any suggestions? Thanks
hotel for four weeks
I suggest that you email or call each of the hotels to see who will give you the best deal based on your extended stay. Assuming that you%26#39;re not visitng during a busy convention period, you should be able to negotiate a favorable rate.
IMO of your picks, I%26#39;d take the Conrad.
hotel for four weeks
Thanks for your quick response. I%26#39;ll email and see.
You may also want to consider Priceline or Hotwire (two non-refundable deep discount services), although you would likely do better with either service by breaking up your stay into parts at different downtown hotels than trying to get 1 hotel for 4 straight weeks.
If you provide which dates you are interested in, I%26#39;d be happy to do some research.
I%26#39;ve never used the service but I%26#39;ve seen them recommended on here, you might take a look at www.vrbo.com. If it was me and I was staying for 3-4 weeks I think I would like something more like a condo with cooking facilities, some of them rent by the month and I think it would be less expensive than a hotel.
The Oakwood Chicago has short-term and long-term apartments, furnished and unfurnished. All apartments have kitchens. There%26#39;s a nice workout room and pool on the roof. Location is great (Huron between Clark and Dearborn).
It doesn%26#39;t have the concierge services of a standard hotel but it will be less expensive and you%26#39;ll have a kitchen.

another short term rental site is www.30ehuron.com
