Chcago Steak House
My favorite steak is the bone-in filet at joes. However, for verall steakhouse feel including food, go with gibsons or Mortons.
Chicago Chop House for an old school chicaego experience, gibsons for a more tendy atmosphere. Keefers is pretty good also.
Fogo de Chao!!!!!!!!! While it is a Brazilian style steakhouse with a few locations throughout the US, it has the best meat I have ever had. You can find info on it in the restaurant section of Trip Advisor or visit the restaurant web site. Not only is the food wonderful (variety of grilled beef, sausages, chicken, lamb, salad bar, etc.), but the service is incredible. It%26#39;s not cheap (no good steak place is), but you get all you want and they have a great variety of food. I visit every time I%26#39;m near one!
If you want an authentic Chicago experience, I would avoid a chain restaurant. Gibsons is my favorite, and we go there frequently for consistently excellent food. The twice baked potato is fabulous! Hmmm-Maybe I can talk my husband into going this weekend!!!!! Other good choices are Gene and Georgettis and Chicago Chop House.
Gibsons is good if you need b-b-cue meats %26amp; enjoy bustling activity. If you want a more classic preparation; 1. Phil Stefani%26#39;s 437 Rush, 2. Chicago Chop House or 3. Custom House all serve excellent beef. And Fogo de Chao is both fun %26amp; good quality meat.
I%26#39;ve been to Fogo many times and I%26#39;m not impressed with the quality of meat...pieces are small and it%26#39;s not dry aged like a top quality steak house would be. Yes, they keep bringing the meat but you tend to see the lower quality pieces come around more often and have to wait for the better cuts. The grazing field (salad bar) is top notch and the meat is all you can eat...but if you buy a 22 ounce strip, you%26#39;ll probably be just as full, get better quality, have better service and experience a piece of Chicago. Fogo has it%26#39;s place...its up to you.
While I%26#39;ve never been...I%26#39;ve heard better things about Brazzaz over fogo.
