I will be visiting town (for the first time) with my girlfriend of four years during this weekend. We will be doing all of the tourist activities (architecture boat cruise, cubs game etc...) is there anything else of interest going on that weekend that anybody is aware of?
I like live music, and saw the Neville brothers will be playing at the house of blues. Are there any outdoor concerts going on?
any info of fun activities going on that weekend would be greatly appreciated.
p.s.- you all do a great job moderarting this forum, there is a ton of great info on here. kudos to you!
Chicago visit 7/19-7/22
Please take a look at metromix.com and chicagoreader.com for listings of things to do, including music.

I would suggest buying a visitor pass for the bus and trains unless you all are driving to Chicago. This visitor pass ranges from $5-$18 and is dependent on how many days you use the pass. Citysearch.com is also a great site to check out for things to do. Have fun in Chicago!! I just returned on Monday and I%26#39;m headed back for the Taste. I love Chicago!
The Sheffield Garden Walk is being held in the DePaul area of Lincoln Park on July 21-22. Take a look at their website for details on all the acts scheduled.
A couple other suggestions;
One of the best nightclub/live music venues is Fitzgeralds in Forest Park (a close suburb) http://www.fitzgeraldsnightclub.com/.
For a more outdoor music and picnic type atmosphere, Ravinia in Highland Park (accessible by Metra train from downtown) is good as well. http://www.ravinia.org/
Hard to go wrong in the summer!
On Friday and Saturday there%26#39;s Old St. Pat%26#39;s World%26#39;s Largest Block Party. There%26#39;s food and live music.

Old St. Pat%26#39;s Block Party is the best festival of the summer. A lot of fun. Buy tickets early. They sell out the weekend of the festival.
