From other posts, it looks like only restaurants with separate bars have smoking. So for a non-smoking visitor, does that mean call first and ask? (or is there another way to know)
smoking in restaurants
You pretty much should go with the expectation and understanding that you will not be able to smoke in restaurants in Chicago.
smoking in restaurants
I don%26#39;t want to smoke, I want others NOT to smoke! But I guess the principle%26#39;s the same.
Starting next year, you won%26#39;t be able to smoke in any restaurant in Illinois.
Visiting in 5 days. Ah well....!
There are a couple of bars where it is an issue -- Timothy O%26#39;Toole%26#39;s is the one closest to the Mag Mile where you might run into it.
Outdoor dining can be an jssue also, since it is allowed outside.
If you see smoke in a dining room, I would call 311 (the City%26#39;s non-emergency line) and report it.
I was wondering if there is smoking in bars?
Yes, there is smoking in bars.
There%26#39;s no smoking in restaurants unless there%26#39;s a separate bar. Even then, it%26#39;s only supposed to be within 15%26#39; of the bar.
thank you
