Conrad or Drake - Please Help!

I can get a nice King room w/ Cityview at the Conrad for $265 or a King Deluxe Room at the Drake for $205. Is the Conrad%26#39;s location and newer renovations worth the $60 extra?

My wife has never been to Chicago and I haven%26#39;t been in a while so I%26#39;m willing to pay a little extra for location, ambience, etc.

Do not know anything about the Conrad. However, I have stayed at the Drake twice and loved it both times. It is elegant and in a perfect location. I would recommend it to anyone visiting our lovely city! Have fun either way!

We%26#39;ve stayed at both hotels; a week in 06 at the Drake and 9 days in 07 at the Conrad. They%26#39;re very diff in ambience. The Drake is a classic-style hotel the Conrad is a more modern feel. The Conrad has the better bathrooms, the Drake has the better restaurant ';Cape Cod Room';. Views are best on the East side of the Drake %26amp; worth the extra $. The Conrad...all rooms ok but don%26#39;t take any south-facing room unless you want to view a wall of windows an alley-width away!

At the Conrad, I%26#39;d suggest paying extra for their ';Executive King bounceback';; you%26#39;ll get a bigger room plus about $22 per person credit towards your breakfast each morning.
