Does anyone remember Pizza Ect. in downtown Naperville about 20 something years ago? Whatever happened to it and the owners Joe amd Margie Cope?
Lost pizza place....Pizza Ect.
We%26#39;ve lived in naperville since 1987. Don%26#39;t remember hearing the name. where exactly was it located?
Lost pizza place....Pizza Ect.
I left is %26#39;83 but it was in the center strip across the street from The Lantern bar.
Boy has Naperville changed in the past 20 years!! If the pizza place was across the street north, there is still a restaurant there. If it was east across the street, there is a newish strip mall there and I can%26#39;t remember what was there before that was built. If you remember the bowling alley, the comic book store and the Chinese restaurant kitty corner from the Lantern (which is still there) that whole building was torn down and it now houses a multi story office building and a Barnes and Noble, and Restoration Hardward. They tore down Bob Horsley%26#39;s and built a Sullivan%26#39;s Steak house. Morgan Crossing is now Rosebud (Chicago Chain.) We also have a Williams Sonoma, Pottery Barn, Gap, Talbots, Ann Taylor etc..... CB Grocery Store was torn down and now there is an Eddie Bauer on that corner. Oswalds moved south the Gartner and Washington. The Fire house across from CB%26#39;s is now a very cool Lou Malnatis Pizza Restaurant with a fire house theme.
Check out this picture of the Eddie Bauer%26#39;s that sit on the old parking lot of CB%26#39;s Grocery Store. hitchcockdesigngroup.com/aboutus/aboutus_loc鈥?/a>
Bob horsley%26#39;s was a couple of stores down on the end at that time. I got my prom suits there! The bowling alley was owned by the same people that owned the driving range and their son now owns the Lantern. He is freinds with my brother who I need to talk to more ofter!
What driving range? Reidy%26#39;s?
No, Feldot%26#39;s Plateau. It was like a double deck place on the way to Fox Valley Mall.
I remember Pizza Etc well. It had excellent pizza and a very friendly atmosphere. I didn%26#39;t know the owners and don%26#39;t know what happened to them. That restaurant has been gone for a very long time. I think it was replaced by a restaurant called Sweet Basil which was also good and lasted a few years. Not sure what%26#39;s there now.
The owner%26#39;s were Joe and Margie Cope. Man that was so long ago. A lot of my friends worked there in the late 70%26#39;s early eighties.
